Jason

Not had to use 2011 in quite a while. Having just taken over a multitude of deployments it seems a lot of personal views (etc.) were shared to individual people instead of teams (A requirement was team, but you know.)

I hit this error when trying to access dashboard data (As did the people in the other team):

“You do not have enough privileges to access the Microsoft Dynamics CRM object or perform the requested operation”

Solution:

  • Make sure all personal views are shared
  • Make sure all teams/users have the correct access to entities and/or data
  • Make sure all teams/users have been given access to the dashboards (…)
  • Make sure all the individual charts in the dashboards are shared. (Advanced find, entity, charts section, share. Change chart, share..)

Bit long winded. Would be nice if there was a ‘Share all personal charts and dashboards’ in 2011, but.. That’s the past.

Soon all of this will be in 2016.

NB: Even faster way is just to create system wide charts/views and share it at a system level.
